How to evaluate vehicle listing software for your dealership
Use these questions to compare a tool against the work your team actually does, from inventory import to the final Publish click.
Who ListLot is built for
ListLot is for independent used-car dealerships whose managers, sales reps or affiliates prepare listings from the same inventory. It is most useful when vehicle facts, photos and posting dates are scattered across a website, phones and spreadsheets. It is not a dealer management system or a replacement for your inventory website.
Check your inventory source first
Bring your dealership inventory URL to a demo. We check whether ListLot can read its vehicle records and photos before you plan a rollout. Not every dealer website platform is supported, and a compatible site may still need setup work.
Compare the actual posting workflow
| Question to ask | How ListLot works |
|---|---|
| Does it publish automatically? | No. Your team reviews each listing and clicks Publish. |
| Which channels get form assistance? | The Chrome extension assists with supported Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist fields. Some Marketplace fields need manual entry. |
| What about Instagram? | ListLot prepares Instagram copy; it does not publish the post. |
| Where do vehicle details come from? | A supported dealership website supplies inventory details. VIN decoding can enrich a draft; a person verifies specs, price and condition. |
| How are photos handled? | Team members can add phone photos to a vehicle record and review the set before posting. |
| How are older posts tracked? | ListLot records posting activity and shows reminders based on your chosen cadence. Your team handles external reposts and sold-vehicle cleanup. |
Review the cost and rollout
Plans are based on active vehicle inventory rather than team seats. The public pricing page shows current plan bands and trial terms. Early access is released through the waitlist; a demo or waitlist signup is not a promise of immediate access. Confirm your inventory source, expected vehicle count and rollout scope before subscribing.
What to verify during a demo
No listing tool can guarantee views, leads, sales or protection from platform restrictions. Follow each channel's current eligibility and posting rules.
- Import a few real vehicles from your website and compare price, mileage, trim and photos with the source.
- Walk through one Marketplace and one Craigslist draft with the people who will post them.
- Check which fields the extension fills and which require manual input in your accounts.
- Have a manager review the approval flow and a rep review the posting queue.
- Agree on who will update or remove live listings when a vehicle sells.
